The samosa is the most famous type of pastry in the world, and it is usually served as a side dish on wedding ceremonies and occasions. It is distinguished by its delicious taste and richness in the necessary nutrients. The methods of preparing it differ from one country to another, and we will learn in the following lines how to prepare it in the Indian way.
How to prepare Indian samosa
Dough Ingredients:
- Two cups of flour.
- Four tablespoons of olive oil.
- Two tablespoons of salt.
- Water as needed.
Filling Ingredients:
- Three grains of boiled and mashed potatoes.
- Two green chili peppers, chopped.
- Three pieces of chopped onions.
- Half a cup of peas.
- Three cloves of garlic, chopped.
- Two tablespoons of oil.
- A teaspoon of fresh ginger.
- A teaspoon of green coriander.
- A teaspoon of curry.
- Two cups of vegetable oil for frying.
- Small spoon of salt.
How to prepare:
- Bring a bowl and put the flour, olive oil, water and salt in it and mix well until you have a soft dough.
- Cover the bowl of dough with a piece of cloth and leave it aside for a quarter of an hour.
- Put a saucepan on the fire and put the oil in it until it heats up, then add the onions, potatoes, peas, garlic, green peppers and ginger, and stir well for five minutes.
- Add coriander, curry and salt to the mixture, stir well, then remove the mixture from the heat and leave it aside until it cools.
- Shape the dough into circles, and fill them with the previously prepared filling.
- Fold the edges of the dough into a triangle shape to seal.
- Put a frying pan with oil on the fire until it gets hot and fry the samosas in it for a quarter of an hour or until it becomes golden in color.
How to prepare Indian samosa with potatoes
Dough Ingredients:
- Two and a quarter cups of flour.
- Six tablespoons of shredded butter.
- Three quarters of a teaspoon of salt.
- Nine tablespoons of water.
Filling Ingredients:
- 800 g of peeled and diced potatoes.
- Half a cup of peas.
- A piece of chopped onion.
- Half a cup of corn.
- Two tablespoons of coriander.
- A teaspoon of finely chopped garlic.
- Juice of half a lemon.
- One and a half teaspoons of grated ginger.
- Two tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- A teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
- Half a teaspoon of garam masala.
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- One and a half teaspoons of salt.
- Vegetable oil as needed.
How to prepare:
- In a bowl, add the flour and salt, stir well, then gradually add the water and butter.
- Knead the previous ingredients until then leave it aside for a quarter of an hour to rest.
- Boil and mash the potatoes, then set aside.
- Put a frying pan on the fire and put the peas and corn in it, and my heart until cooked a little.
