This list may change from any time, there’s a Samsung Galaxy S20 still to be fully reviewed, as well as rumors of a full iPhone 12, OnePlus 8T and Google Pixel 5 that may land before the end of the year.

We know it’s not about high-end phones and super specs all the time, so we’ve made a handy list of all the top smartphones you can get in the market right now, and take stock of what really matters to you.

  • Front camera: 10MP.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 is the best smartphone available at the moment. That covers both the S20 and the Galaxy S20 Plus is larger, as there is very little difference between the two phones aside from the size and the two specifications.

the screen:

Each of these devices has phone screens that are a cut above the rest, and they are all capable of a 120Hz refresh rate that will allow for smoother scrolling and playing on your phone’s screen.

Battery life:

The battery life on the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus isn’t the best we’ve ever seen on a smartphone, but the bigger batteries of the S10 series allow these devices to last longer and will be enough for your day.

Both devices come with wireless charging, and there’s even a reverse power sharing feature that allows you to top up your friend’s phone as well.

Camera:

Samsung has improved the camera suite on the Galaxy S20 devices compared to the Galaxy S10.

It may not look much better on paper, but larger pixels and software optimization add to the groundbreaking experience.

The S20 and S20 Plus are the best Samsung has to offer, and they come together to give you the best smartphone experience right now.

If we had to pick one, we’d go for a bigger screen, bigger battery and slightly improved rear camera than the Galaxy S20 Plus, but both phones deserve a better phone crown.

OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications:
  • Release date: April 2021
  • Weight: 199g
  • Dimensions: 165.3 x 74.35 x 8.5 mm
  • Operating System: Android 10
  • Screen size: 6.78 inches
  • Display Resolution: 3168 x 1440
  • CPU: Snapdragon 865
  • RAM: 8/12GB
  • Storage: 128/256 GB
  • Battery: 4,510mAh
  • Rear camera: 48 MP + 48 MP + 5 MP + 8 MP
  • Front camera: 16 MP
  • Price: 730 dollars

The OnePlus 8 Pro blew us away when we reviewed it, and the company is battling Samsung and Apple over our best phones list for this very reason.

While the OnePlus 8 is also an option, it misses many of the features we love about the Pro, which we outline below.

the screen:

This 6.78-inch has the potential to impress you over an iPhone for one simple reason: a “fluid display” that sets the refresh rate to 120Hz.

Not only does it make the game look better, but simply web scrolling looks smoother.

You’ll also find a nice Rrr10+ optimization here, although the wrong touches along the edges of the screen can get us in trouble at times.

Battery life:

If you need your phone’s battery to last all day, the OnePlus 8 Pro makes it happen, according to our tests. The 4,510 battery capacity isn’t the biggest next to what Samsung phones are touting, but when setting the resolution to Full HD+, we didn’t get a single charge very easily.

We also took advantage of OnePlus (finally) adding wireless charging, in fact, it’s the fastest wireless charging device ever.

Camera:

OnePlus has always fallen behind when it comes to its cameras, although the OnePlus 8 Pro is closing the gap.

A quad lens array on the back of the phone allows for 48MP photos and 3x optical zoom with 30x digital zoom.

We can’t call it the best camera phone on the market, but it’s among the best cameras on Android in this price range.

Surprisingly, with the best phones from Apple and Samsung out of the way, we have the onePlus that is simultaneously not so well known that it has claimed a place among the top 5 phones of 2021.

While this version is more expensive than previous OnePlus phones, it doesn’t cut corners.

You get 5G, a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, a great camera with 3x optical zoom, and ultra-fast wireless charging.

It’s a little tall and only comes in one size (with the smaller OnePlus 8 a very different experience), the camera is expected to be good but not good enough to rival the phones topping it.

iPhone 12 specifications:
  • Release date: October 2021.
  • Weight: 164g.
  • Dimensions: 146.7 mm x 71.5 mm x 7.4 mm
  • Operating system: iOS 14.
  • Screen size: 6.1 inches.
  • Resolution: 1170 x 2532.
  • CPU: A14 Bionic.
  • RAM: 4GB.
  • Storage capacity: 64GB/128GB/256GB.
  • Battery: Unknown.
  • Back camera: 12MP + 12MP.
  • Front camera: 12 MP.
  • Price: $1,317.

The iPhone 12 is a phone similar in many specifications to the iPhone 11 but with 5G for the first time along with an OLED screen, a more durable build and increased power it’s the best iPhone for most people.

The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are obviously better but they also cost more, which makes them less attractive.

the screen:

Upgrading to OLED on the standard iPhone 12 means this has one excellent screen that could stand up to its more expensive siblings even though that’s still just a 60Hz screen.

Battery life: The battery life on the 11 Pro series is a bit longer than the last few generations of iPhones, but don’t expect any game-changers here when it comes to how long your phone will last.

the battery:

The iPhone 12’s battery life is better than that of its predecessor, but it still can’t compete with longer-lived smartphones. You’ll probably charge it at night, but at least you have the option to do it without wires.

Camera:

The dual-lens camera (consisting of a 12MP main and ultra-wide) on the iPhone 12 performs well even in low light, but it’s not a huge upgrade over the iPhone 11 here although being able to use night mode with both sensors is a bonus Latifa.

It’s not the best-spec iPhone available, but it strikes a good balance between price and features, class-leading chipset packages, and has future scrutiny from even 5G.

Water Find X2 Pro:

  • Release date: June 2021.
  • Weight: 200/217 grams.
  • Dimensions: 165.2 x 74.4 x 8.8 / 9.5 mm.
  • Operating system: Android 10.
  • Screen size: 6.7 inches.
  • Display resolution: 1440 x 3168.
  • CPU: Snapdragon 865.
  • RAM: 12 GB.
  • Storage: 256/512 GB.
  • Battery: 4260 mAh.
  • Back camera: 48 MP, 13 MP, 48 MP.
  • Front camera: 32 MP.
  • Price: $940.
  • Best phone 2021

This is our highest ever rank of Oppo on our best phone list, because the Oppo Find X2 Pro is the most accomplished phone from the manufacturer to date.

You’ll find a top display, processor, camera and much more on the Oppo Find X2 Pro that justifies its high price. Battery life isn’t great, but otherwise this is one of the best phones on sale right now.

the screen:

The 6.7 inch screen on this phone is one of the very best on the market right now. The display resolution is beautiful, it’s punchy and you’ll enjoy using the screen on this device if you’re looking for a big phone.

Battery life:

This is where the Oppo Find X2 Pro is located, and we found it would last a consistent day with moderate use but if you plan on using your phone a lot you may need to look elsewhere.

Camera:

There are some great specs here which makes it one of the very best camera phones that you can buy right now. The 60x zoom is particularly impressive on the Find X2 Pro.

This isn’t the cheap phone you might expect from Oppo. It’s a top-notch phone that’s capable of battling the big guns from Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus that surround it if you’re looking for something different.

The iPhone 12 is remarkably similar to the iPhone 12 and this, along with the higher price, means it was rated lower but money aside it is definitely the best phone.

It has more cameras and storage for one along with all the same great features as the standard iPhone 12 including 5G and MagSafe technology.

the screen:

The iPhone 12 Inno has a big 6.1 inch OLED screen It is one of the best out there but it is not much better than the iPhone 11 Inno and there is only a 60Hz refresh rate.

the battery:

The iPhone 12 Pro has an acceptable battery life, but it’s not great. You’ll charge daily and there’s no charger in the carton, at least wireless charging is supported.

Camera:

With its 12MP main, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera, as well as a LiDAR scanner, the iPhone 12 Pro has a versatile camera setup, better in low light than its predecessor’s lineup.

The iPhone 12 Inno isn’t a huge upgrade over either its predecessor or the standard iPhone 12 but this still makes it one of the very best iPhones and phones you can buy.

Samsung’s latest premium smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, with advanced features, a great-looking display, and the in-built S Pen, which gives you additional versatile ways to use your device.

Sure it’s expensive, pretty bulky, and doesn’t actually have all the bells and whistles of the Galaxy S20 Ultra but these weaknesses are excused by a lot of advantages.

the screen:

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has one of the best displays on any smartphone, with a 120Hz (FullHD+) refresh rate and an option of QHD+ (60Hz) plus 6.9 inches there’s plenty of room for movies, games and productivity apps.

Camera:

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra HD Camera Impressing with 0.5x ultrawide, 1x normal, 5x optical and 50x digital zoom levels, you can get close to subjects and get stunning still shots.

Battery life:

If the Note 20 Ultra has a slight weak point, it’s the battery in most parts of the world (mainly outside of North America) The phone comes with Samsung’s Exynos 990 chipset which isn’t quite as energy efficient so you’ll need to recharge before the day is over.

It’s an impressive phone, with three rear cameras and a waterfall display, delivering great shots and a high-end design.

It’s not widely available in the UK, nor is it cheap, but you can pick it up from Motorola’s website for £1,049.99.

the screen:

Motorola Edge Plus has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ display (2340 x 1080p), which actually looks sharper than the display might suggest. There is support for a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling much smoother.

Battery life:

The large 5000mAh battery inside the Motorola Edge Plus easily gives you more than one day of use on a single charge which means you will be able to party in the early hours without fear of your phone dying when it comes to getting a cab home.

Camera:

The Edge Plus takes mobile photography to the next level for Motorola, with a set of rear cameras that fits its flagship asking price The Edge Plus range of cameras performs well, and that’s only as good when you compare it to the Likes of the Galaxy S20+, Note 20 Ultra and OnePlus 8 Pro Where you see it doesn’t quite hit all the high marks.

It is Motorola’s first true flagship in years, boasting top specs, a great display and three rear cameras. With 5G connectivity as well, the phone checks all the boxes as a serious contender against the heavyweights of Samsung, Apple, and OnePlus.

  • Battery: 4,500mAh.
  • Back camera: 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP.
  • Front camera: 16 MP.
  • Price: $640.
  • Best phone 2021

The OnePlus 8T may be newer than the OnePlus 8 Pro, but it’s not quite as good.

However, for those who don’t want to splash out on the top model, this comes very close, thanks to a great screen, plenty of power, and more.

the screen:

At 1080 x 2400 pixels, the OnePlus 8T doesn’t have the sharpest screen, but it’s sharp enough, and its 120Hz refresh rate along with the AMOLED technology makes it one of the best screens you’ll get for this kind of money as it’s quite large at 6.55 inches.

Battery life:

There’s a big 4,500mAh battery in the OnePlus 8T, which comfortably lasts a day and charges really fast, as it supports 65W charging. There’s no wireless charging here though, so you’ll need the OnePlus 8 Pro.

Camera:

The quad-lens camera on the OnePlus 8T gives you a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth camera to play with. There’s no telephoto camera, but what’s out there works well.

The OnePlus 8T is a phone that has just about everything from its great screen to its high-end chipset, capable cameras, long-lasting battery, and good software. The price is low.

Shaomi Mi Note 10:
  • Release date: November 2019.
  • Weight: 208g.
  • Dimensions: 157.8 x 74.2 x 9.7 mm.
  • Operating system: Android 9.

  • Back camera: 108MP.
  • Front camera: 732MP.
  • Price: $425.
  • Best phone 2021

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is close to perfect, but it just doesn’t quite do it, but it’s cheaper than many other phones you’ll find on this list. For these two reasons, this could be your next smartphone.

the screen:

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 comes with a beautiful 6.47-inch screen with curved edges and a fingerprint sensor built into it. It’s large in size, looks amazing, and adds to the overall classy look of the phone.

Battery life:

There’s a massive 5,260mAh battery inside the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, and while on paper that sounds great we found it the same as your average phone. It will last a full day of normal use, but don’t expect a life longer than a full day.

Camera:

Here are the highlights of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 – it comes with a 108MP camera. Not a typo, this is a 108MP shooter. Saying he takes great pictures is an understatement. Some of the phone’s rear cameras feel a little inconsistent, but we still found this phone to be one of the best camera phones around.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is a great option if you are looking for a cheaper Android phone that doesn’t lose out on a lot of specs.

The chipset isn’t great, so it won’t always offer the best power of any of the devices on this list, but given its price and cameras, you might want to consider it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus:
  • Release date: August 2019.
  • Weight: 196g.
  • Dimensions: 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm.

  • Back camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP + ToF.
  • Front camera: 10MP.
  • Weight: 166g.
  • Price: $630.
  • Best phone 2021

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is one of the biggest phones out there, but this is a toting pen phone.

It is relatively expensive, but it has some of the best specs you will get on a smartphone in 2021.

the screen:

The screen on this phone is huge and the Infinity-O cutout means there is little cutout for the display here, allowing for an immersive experience.

Battery life:

The battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus easily lasts all day, plus the fast charging technology means you’re able to pump it up quickly when it gets close to 0%.

Camera:

The camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus isn’t the best on the market, but it’s impressive and offers a lot of fun features that you might want to play around with.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is a great device, but only for those who want a big phone and don’t mind spending a little money.

The S20 Plus would be more suitable for most, but the Note 10 Plus is a pretty big phone.

  • Weight: 148g.
  • Dimensions: 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm.

The cheapest new iPhone of 2021 from Apple.

iPhone SE 2021 is the sequel to the one-handed-friendly iPhone from 2016, and takes the power and specs we loved from the iPhone 11 series and crams into the design of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.

Screen: This new iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch screen borrowed from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, so it’s larger than the original iPhone SE, but still hand-friendly.

This became important for people who were demanding a smaller phone.

Battery life:

As long as you’re not a power user (he would likely pick the iPhone 11 series anyway), you’ll be fine with what Apple has to offer in terms of battery life.

It won’t last you any longer than a day, though, with generally the same amount of power as seen on the iPhone 8, which had a battery capacity of 1821mAh.

Camera:

For the money, iPhone SE 2021 takes absolutely gorgeous photos in good light.

You won’t notice much of a difference outside of it, as you will sometimes fail to set the ideal exposure levels and depth of field outdoors during the day.

However, dim the lights, and you’ll notice the brightness exceeds: Night mode, found on more powerful iPhones, requires an upgrade to at least iPhone 11.

This isn’t Apple’s most powerful iPhone, but it’s the best value for people who want to stick with iOS 13 without overpaying.

Its screen technology won’t dazzle you like the iPhone 11 Pro, and there’s only one camera on the back.
